Aftercare.

Avoid using make up, perfume, deodorant on the affected area until the scab has hardened normally within 48 hours.   If using ice cubes or cold packs  make sure they’re wrapped in a clean cloth, never apply ice directly to skin.

We recommend Aloe Vera and Bio Oil. They contain many natural healing properties and are preferable to sometimes harsher antiseptic creams.

Elevate the legs higher than the heart and rest as much as possible for 24 hours.   Avoid alcohol and suspend any rigorous exercise.

Some inflammation, red or blotchy skin is normal with vein removal and should settle down within 48 to 72 hours.  However, should you experience swelling or infection, please consult your GP or pharmacist.   If you’re on blood thinning drugs such as aspirin or warfarin please inform us during your consultation.
